After You by Jojo Moyes
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I read this immediately following Me Before You, and couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. It's still a quick read and I enjoyed parts of it, but I didn't connect with it like the first one.
I don't usually comment on (or
even pick up on) these kinds of things, but it really bothered me that
when Sam got shot, it was done by someone with an "Afro-Carribean
appearance." Of course, a black guy did it. My feelings about the book
took a turn there and I found myself really annoyed by it and that whole
story line. It was too contrived.
