Who knew?

So, before I begin, I have to tell you that I'm back in with American Idol this season.  Harry Connick, Jr. did the trick.  He's got great chemistry with Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban and I think I'll enjoy the show.

On last week's show, a kid came out with his guitar and said he was going to sing Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love."  When he started singing, I was like, but wait...that's Adele's song!   I had NO idea Bob Dylan wrote that song.  I looked it up and found that Billy Joel performed it first, and then Bob Dylan, and many since then, including Garth Brooks and Kelly Clarkson.  And THEN, I learned that Garth Brooks did a version that appeared on the song track for Hope Floats, which is a movie I think only my sister and I saw, that starred Harry Connick, Jr.!  See?  It all comes full circle.

Anyway, I love this song, and kudos to Bob Dylan for such beautiful lyrics.  No offense though, I much prefer Adele's version.

Make You Feel My Love
by Bob Dylan

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven't made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I've known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong

I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue
I'd go crawling down the avenue
No, there's nothing that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on the rolling sea
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain't seen nothing like me yet

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the Earth for you
To make you feel my love

To make you feel my love
